Ringwood Dental provides Orthopaedic & Orthodontic services to patients under 18, to help parents ensure the best dental health for their children from a young age.
Dr Patricia Webley is our in-house Orthodontic Specialist; with over 20 years of experience as an Orthodontic Specialist, and a particular passion for early interceptive treatment, Patricia is much loved by patients and parents alike for her informed, thorough and caring approach to Children’s Orthodontics. Her practice is exclusively limited to orthodontic & orthopaedic treatment with patients under 18.
EARLY INTERCEPTIVE ORTHODONTICS
Early interceptive treatment is preventative orthodontic treatment that takes place before all of your child’s permanent teeth have erupted. Typically this is recommended for children between the ages of 6-11 years old. By starting early we are able to utilise the child’s growth and reduce the likelihood of more severe issues developing that could result in extensive/complex treatment that may result in surgery.
Early interceptive treatment helps us to develop your child’s jaws, making room for the erupting permanent teeth and improving the relationship of their upper and lower jaws.
FIXED BRACES FOR TEENS
Traditional fixed braces, often known as ‘train tracks’, can be utilised by our team once your child’s adult teeth have come through. Treatment consists of metal brackets cemented to the front of the teeth, with wires threaded through each bracket. We can provide ceramic or clear braces to patients who are keen for a more subtle appearance.
This classic orthodontic treatment can, with appropriate aftercare and correct retention advice adhered to, ensure your child’s straight smile for a lifetime!
I'm concerned about my childs teeth. Where do I begin?
Our Orthodontic Consultations are totally free for any and all patients interested in private treatment with our Orthodontic Specialist Dr Patricia Webley, for under 18s, or our Clinical Director Dr Hardip Dhatt, for over 18s. In your appointment we will discuss your needs and expectations from treatment.
Our Orthodontic team will outline all the options available to you, covering all aspects such as anticipated length of treatment, the costs involved etc.
We also currently offer Free 3D Smile Simulations via our iTero Scanner, so we can show you the projected results of treatment before you decide whether to proceed.
How long will treatment last?
It’s frustrating to read and say, but this really does depend on what we are looking to treat. However, based on the 1000s of patients we have previously treated, it’s safe to say the average treatment time for early interceptive orthopaedic treatment with 5 to 11 year olds is typically 18 – 24 months, while fixed brace orthodontic treatment for teenagers can be 12 – 18 months.
Can my child receive orthodontic treatment on the NHS?
Very few orthodontic options are available on the NHS unfortunately; childrens orthodontic waiting lists have been reported to be as extensive as 2 to 3 years even prior to Covid-19, while orthopaedic treatment is rarely even considered under the NHS.
However, do bear in mind that we have a range of financial options available to help spread the cost of treatment; we aim to make priority dental work affordable to everyone!
How much do braces cost?
As you can imagine, a wide variety of factors are involved in the cost of orthodontic/orthopaedic treatment however our price for orthopaedic treatment tends to be approx £3900 (this will all be discussed in your appointment of course).
This price is inclusive of all fixed appliances and routine appointments, so there are no hidden costs. The main exception to this are lost or broken appliances (so make sure you don’t leave them out on the side for the dog to steal!)
If further orthodontic treatment is required post-orthopaedic treatment, then this will be quoted seperately.
What about other Cosmetic Dental treatment?
Alongside traditional orthodontic treatments for children and teenagers, we offer a full range of Cosmetic Dental options for adults, start from as little as £500 (for minor cosmetic bonding), with fixed braces starting from £1500. We also offer Teeth Whitening from just £300!
Do You Offer 0% Interest Finance Plans?
It would be silly of us to write that question if we didn’t! YES, we offer 0% Interest Finance Plans on all Private Treatments over £500! You can opt for a 6, 9 or 12 Month Plan.
At your free consultation, you’ll be given the option of speaking to one of our excellent Treatment Co-Ordinators after your childs proposed treatment plan has been put together, who will go through the 0% Finance Plan with you, and work out the monthly cost should you proceed with treatment.
What about Long Term Finance Plans?
Unsuprisingly, we do indeed offer long term finance plans! If you want to spread the cost of your childs treatment over more than 12 Months, we offer Low Interest 9.9%APR Finance Plans that can be spread over up to 5 years!
We have Treatment Co-Ordinators on hand after your initial consultation, who you are welcome to sit down with to discuss the finance options available to you, and work out the monthly repayments should you choose to proceed.
